Acquired as Strasbourg, middle 18th century; attributed to Lunéville by Hans Haug, Director of the Strasbourg Museum, in 1931; illustrated by Arthur Lane, French Faïence, 1948, pl. 75, as 'Niderviller (or perhaps Lunéville), Beyerlé period, 1754-70'; another identical illustrated Dorothée Guillemé Brulon, Strasbourg & Niderviller - Sources et rayonnement, Histoire de la Faïence Francaise, Paris, 1999, p. 105, where attributed to Lunéville and dated c. 1770.
