Acquired as Mennecy; illustrated by W. B. Honey in 'French Porcelain of the 18th century', where he noted that the painting was unlike any usually attributed to Mennecy, and where he captioned it as 'Mennecy (?)'; examined by Jean-Gabriel Peyre 1999, who considered the attribution to Mennecy correct.
