| Production | Acquired as Strasburg, 2nd half of the 18th century; examined in 1931 by Hans Haug, Director of the Strasburg Museum, who suggested the figure was probably made at St. Clément or Les Islettes; relabelled as St. Clément and then (late 1990s) as St. Clément or Les Islettes. For another of these figures and its companion attributed to Les Islettes see: Dorothée Guillemé Brulon, Strasbourg & Niderviller - Sources et rayonnement, Histoire de la Faïence Francaise, Paris, 1999, p. 133, where the pair are dated to the late 18th or early 19th century |
