Vase of hard-paste porcelain painted with enamels and gilded, and with unglazed applied flowers. Cup-shaped, the lower portion gadrooned. Above the gadroons are two floral festoons in applied white biscuit, suspended from knobs in the form of screw-heads. Remaining surface is decorated with two oval medallions, festoons and sprigs in gold on a dark blue ground. Within the medallions are landscapes with ruins.

Production
Acquired as 'Italian (Naples), first half of the 19th century'. Reattributed to Niderviller and dated to the late 18th century by comparison with a similar object, described as a clock 'en forme d'une urne' and attributed to Niderviller, exhibited at the Paris (Musée des arts decoratifs) loan exhibition of 1929, no. 1002.
