This Christmas cracker label by Batger’s & Co is probably from 1920s or 1930s. The V&A collection includes a series of cracker labels by the firm, established in 1748. This image shows a party scene in the spirit of the ‘Roaring ’20s’, with glamorous people in evening dress, possibly celebrating New Year’s Eve. It is an interesting document, an insight into the social history of the time.
