Circular plate on turned foot-ring (diameter 16.2 cm, height 2.5 cm); transfer-printed in dark red, with a repeating motif of a tulip plant with leaves, which has been over-painted with washes of pale enamels; the rim picked out with gilding (now rubbed).
The base has the printed factory mark in iron red of the imperial eagle (indicating the imperial warrant) above the St George and the dragon (for Moscow), the latter contained within an oval band with the factory name and Moscow in Cyrillic, which in turn is above an inscription in Arabic Printed pattern number '537.' in dark red enamel below factory mark
