Hemi-spherical bowl on a tall foot-ring (diameter 18.6 cm, height 18.7 cm); the exterior painted front and back in two shades of puce enamel with symmetrical pattern of plant ornament; the rim and foot-ring are picked out with gilding (now rubbed) and the interior is painted in the same palette with a narrow band with a repeating pattern of geometrical and stylised floral ornament, and the centre of the bowl with a sprig.
The base has the printed factory mark in iron red of the imperial eagle (indicating the imperial warrant) above the St George and the dragon (for Moscow), the latter contained within an oval band with the factory name and Moscow in Cyrillic.
Painted pattern number '191' in puce enamel inside foot-rim. Condition: gilding rubbed.
