Object history | Historical significance: Pompeo della Cesa (ca. 1537-8 - 1610) was armourer to the Spanish court in Milan. The pauldron and gauntlet were bequeathed to the Museum by J.G. Joicey in 1919. They had previously been bought from the Breadalbane Collection at Christie's, London, 5th July 1917, lot 87. |
