Place of origin |
Jesus Christ is seated on a tree stump on the right side of the panel. He wears a long tunic and a length of cloth is draped over his knees and over one shoulder. He is barefoot. He raises his left hand in benediction as he addresses the Samarian woman.
The Samarian woman stands on the left of the panel. She wears a long dress with a tight revealing over-bodice. She wears a jewelled headdress with a long scarf attached which flows out behind her. Her left hand rests on the well which is in the centre of the panel.
Water can be drawn from the well by means of an elaborate pulley system. A small water bowl rests on the ground between the figures of Christ and the Samarian woman.
There is a townscape in the left background of the panel.
