Purchase - £25; From the Portmeirion Shop, 7 Pont Street, London, SW1
One of a pair. Label says: probably designed by Archibald Knox (1864-1933) for the Silver Studio run by Rex Silver, 1900. This pair of candlesticks was made by WH Haseler of Birmingham for Liberty's Cymric silver scheme. The design was first illustrated in The Studio, Vol. XIX 1900 p.27 and is attributed to Rex Silver. Silver was the Managing Director of the Silver Studio of Brook Green, Hammersmith which supplied the majority of Liberty's innovative designs.
