This is a silver-gilt medal made by Hans Reinhart in Nuremberg and dated 1536. The obverse of this medal represents Adam and Eve beneath the Tree of Knowledge. The foliage of the tree has been soldered on, a feature typical of Reinhart. The reverse represents the Crucifixion. Struck biblical medals were produced mainly from ca. 1530 to ca. 1570, when silver was plentifully available at St. Joachimsthal.
