Rocking Horse

The body of the horse is of metal painted red with silver speckled decoration. The rockers are of the same material and consist of two tubes bent to a wide 'U'-shape, joined by horizontal rods at the back and front. The head is made from wood, painted red with and decorated with silver eyes, bridle and freckles. Two rods of different lengths protrude from either side for the rider to hold on to. The mane is black and the seat is a sheet of cork.

Object history
Purchased in 1980 from Robert S. Warren as part of a collection of items which were formerly on loan to the Museum (see MISC.142 to 151-1980). On entry to the Museum it was noted that 'some paint [was] peeling.'
