This toy was bought by the donor for 16 rupees in the Spring of 1989 from a shop in Pune, India which sold toys and a variety of other goods. Many street vendors and toy stalls in Pune and other cities sold this rickshaw-shaped toy with a winding clockwork mechanism.

Physical description | Auto Rikshaw, tin painted red with tongue and groove fastenings; yellow plastic steering panel and two back lamps, green plastic driver's seat, pink fare counter. At the front the yellow panel extends outside the cab to form the holder for the front wheel. The clockwork mechanism is housed within the body. The outside is decorated with blue and white labels showing a tower and DEPHI, a white paper disc printed to show Mickey Mouse dressed as the Sorcerer, rear white label printed in red and a front label of silver paper printed in yellow to read DER999. The rickshaw is mounted on two black plastic wheels. The box lid cheap cardboard, shows a photograph of a real auto rikshaw, a man on a motorcycle, and two couples with the title and the trademark, BEAT-ALL TOYS. |
