Engraving of a botanical illustration of punica granatum (pomegranate), depicting a brown stalk with stems of green leaves, flowers and the start of fruit. The flowers are tubular in shape and orange, splaying out at the end to show pink petals surrounding the yellow stamen in the centre. The start of a pomegranate is depicted at the bottom of the plant, green at the bottom, and orange at the top. On either side of the bottom of the plant is a depiction of the ripened fruit, the image on the right being a section of the plant to show the inside. On the left there are depictions of the flower, showing the interior.
