Plate of bone china painted with enamels and gilded. Circular with the edge moulded with eight lobes, four large and four small. The central roundel is painted with 'Doctor Syntax in the Glass House', and is encircled by gilt and pink enamel festoons and floral ornament reserved on a blue ground. The border has four gilt-bordered reserved panels each containing a flower. These panels alternate with moulded leafy floral sprays reserved on the blue ground and enriched with gilt leafy sprays.
