'The Sportsman's Present'. A young boy, wearing a dark-coloured hat, standing outside the door to a building with a boot-scraper on the step. Under his right arm he holds a woven basket, with what appear to be pheasant feathers sticking out of it, and in his right hand he holds a dead hare with its feet bound. In his left hand he holds a scrap of paper inscribed with the name G. G. Turner.
