Physical description | Pencil, pen, ink, and wash drawing on paper of the interior of the library at Chesterfield House. The room is depicted full of furniture, the floor is covered in a large wall-to-wall rug, and the walls are covered in full bookshelves. Paintings of prominent figures from the 18th and 19th centuries line the upper half of the walls. Horatian lines in capital letters are inscribed along the cornice on all walls. The ceiling is ornately carved. |
