Design drawing for a melon scoop

Design
1991 (made), about 1994 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

In the 1990s many Italian designers were preoccupied with designing kitchen and table wares. These included such items as coffee pots, oil drizzlers and salt and pepper sets. Pino Spagnolo has specialised in designing such wares. This melon scoop is typical of the Italian interest in using plastics for tableware at this time. They were usually brightly coloured, though neatly designed. In their bright colours they show the influence of postmodernism.
