Veil or shawl of Brussels bobbin lace. Slightly irregularly shaped drochel bobbin net with applied decoration of Brussels bobbin lace. The decoration, which is confined to a seven inch border, consists of a quilloche of interlaced laurel leaf stems enclosing wheel motifs from which rise classically inspired staffs entwined with leafy stems. A smaller formal border of leaf shapes and classical motifs runs along the extreme edge, which is further decorated with an open-work band of bobbin lace.
