The style of this jug is very similar to designs by the French decorator Jules Barbe in a pattern book of Thomas Webb's dating from 1879-1888. The designs are distantly inspired by Japanese objects.
Production
Barbara Morris says certainly Webb's - glass was tested and contains lead; she has seen similar in T Webb pattern books. 25/5/93
