V-necked long sleeved tunic in mauve fabric woven with flowers in silver and gold lurex, the whole sprayed shades of blue. The neck, scalloped epaulettes and scalloped lower edge are trimmed with gold braid. From centre front hem, up chest and around neck is a net panel with gold and blue paint simulating feathers, the whole scattered with sequins and blue jewels.

Physical description

The neck, scalloped epaulettes and scalloped lower edge are trimmed with gold braid. Object history
The Royal Ballet's 1977 production of The Sleeping Beauty was designed by David Walker. Over subsequent years the costume for the Bluebird underwent several modifications, of which this a late example. An earlier example is S.64-2003.
