This toy crane is a scale model of a Jones KL44 crane. Red painted pressed steel on a black painted base with four rubber tyred wheels. The driver's cab and pulley system swivel on this base. Two handles project from the side of the crane; one operates the pulley system the other the height of the jib. The pulley system consists of green cords wound around the handles and leading to three pairs of metal wheels at the top of the jib. From the top of the jib, the cords are attached to a weighted lead hook. (A large capacity bucket is missing). There is a printed cardboard box showing red and grey illustration of a real size crane in action in a quarry.Printed on the underside of the crane: "A model of the 4 ton Jones Mobile crane made by K&L Steelfounders & engineers Ltd. of Letchworth, England makers of the world's best mobile cranes which are distributed in Great Britain by George Cohen Sons & Co Ltd."
