This riding cravat is from an important collection of riding outfits and accessories previously in Castle Howard, Yorkshire. The collection also includes a blue woollen jacket, an apron skirt, breeches, a black bowler riding hat, boots, gloves and various accessories. These are all typical items a fashionable woman would have worn in the 1920s for riding.

This white cotton cravat has a collar with three button or stud holes. There are two wide ties attached to the collar. There is a woven label attached with the maker's name. 'C III' is embroidered in cross-stitch on the end of one of the ties. This is a laundry mark
