This riding hat is from an important collection of riding outfits and accessories previously in Castle Howard, Yorkshire. The collection also includes a blue woollen jacket, an apron skirt, breeches, boots, cravats, gloves and various accessories. These are all items a fashionable woman would have worn in the 1920s for riding.

Physical description
Black felted wool bowler hat with a Petersham ribbon hat band and brim trimming, lined with cream silk satin. It has a size adjuster inside made of beige cotton twill. The hat fastens under the chin with elastic.
