Painting, in opaque watercolour and gold on paper, Hindu land-owners or officials watching dancers and musicians. The four principal figures are seated in a row under a shamiana (canopy) and upon a carpet on which are also laid huqqas.gulab-pashas (rosewater sprinklars) and other courtly accessories. One of the men is a younger person. Behind them stand two retainers, one is holding a hand-fan. Another retainer stands in the front resting on his staff. Two dancers and two female singers, accompanied by a drummer are performing in the front. A tentwall (sara-pardha) is visible in the background.
