Hand-coloured engraved etching showing the Ironmongers Hall with a view of Fenchurch Street. The size, format, and subject matter of this print all point to it being a 'perspective' print, intended to be viewed through a double convex lens which gives the illusion of depth. The view shows a long stretch of the road with one side of the street more prominently depicted while the other side curves away into the distance. The buildings are quite plain except for the Ironmongers Hall itself which has a classical facade with heavy brickwork on the ground floor, and five ornate vases above the pediment running along the length of balustrade at the uppermost part of the building. A number of horses and carts are in the street as well as pedestrians, walking along the sandy coloured road. Lettered with the title, the number 49, and the artist's and engraver's names and addresses.
