Brooch Casting
1950s (made)
Artist/Maker | |
Place of origin |
One of a sequence of casts showing stages in the making of a brooch by Trifari, a leading manufacturer of costume jewellery in Providence, Rhode Island.
This stage shows the brooch after it has been partly gold-plated. The orange masking paint has preserved the rhodium-plated finish of the settings so that the glass stones can be set in white metal, which will enhance their colour.
