Long underpants machine-knitted silk in blue, orange and black bands. Fastened down the front with four mother of pearl buttons and there are four smaller mother of pearl buttons attached at the side and back for size adjustment purposes. The front of the waist and back size adjuster is faced with cotton satin covered in grey silk satin and reinforced with rows of machine-stitching. There is a crest on the front left hand side of the vest machine-embroidered with 'M.A.' standing for the Marquis of Anglesey. Inside pants is a label printed in red with: 'Doucet Jeune, 10 Rue de Halevy 10, Paris'.
