Soft Toy

1920s (manufactured)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Soft toy cat, light brown mohair, with jointed oval head and limbs. It has brown felt pointed ears, and an embroidered nose and mouth. The nose is stitched with light-coloured thread and the mouth is a crooked line of black tread. The white celluloid eyes are large and round, with green pupils painted top left so the cat appears to be looking upwards and to its right. It has a wire armature inside and is stuffed with wood wool. Some of the stuffing in the tail has fallen so it now flops downwards rather than standing erect.
