Fragment of a bowl of red earthenware, painted in colours on white slip and covered with a clear glaze. The design consists of cypress-trees alternating with conventional floral devices connected by interlaced strapwork, and arranged radically about a central rosette. The trees and devices are enclosed in compartments conforming with them in outline, reserved on a dotted ground, and the whole design being painted in olive-green and red with touches of manganese-purple.
