Teddy Bear

1920s (manufactured)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

The German company of Schuco was famous for its miniature teddy bears. They were particularly popular during the 1920s and again in the 1950s. The early bears, like this one, had felt paw pads, while the later ones had none. Some of Schuco's miniature bears were novelty items and contained such things as scent bottles and powder compacts. Others were made in different colour mohair. This is just an ordinary bear but it is part of a dolls' house.
