Sale Mr. Christie, Pall Mall, A catalogue of all the Remaining curious and truly matchless Pieces of the Chelsea Porcelaine, Third Day’s Sale, 17 February 1770, lot 79, 'One large round urn and cover, mazarine blue and gold, most curiously enamell’d with a sleeping girl, &c.' 12l. 1s. 6d.

Philip Stanhope, 4th Earl of Chesterfield (1694-1773), purchased the vase in 1770.
