The British soft toy company Chiltern Toys made this bear. It is an example of the firm's Hugmee teddies, which were first produced in 1923. The bear has clear glass eyes and its nose area has been shaved. The arms are short with upturned paws and the felt paw pads on the feet are reinforced with card. These features are all very characteristic of Chiltern bears. This bear belonged to a former director of the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green, London.
