The Teletubbies was a hit TV series for pre-school children launched in 1996 on CBBC. The Teletubbies consisted of four characters, Tinky Winky, Laa-Laa, Dipsy and Po. Teletubbie merchandising has been very popular, at Christmas time in 1996 all figures sold out.
