This full-length zipped winter dress is decorated with an ornamental design of birds and diamonds and features a mandarin collar. The embroidery around the pockets is reminiscent of 19th-century Turkish and Greek couched decoration. The dress was originally designed to be worn with a matching black embroidered hat with a tassel, made by Frederick Fox for John Bates.
