Brief description
Cricket sweater of wool, Kent & Curwen, Great Britain, 1997
Physical description
Cricket sweater of white wool with a blue strip trim.
Gallery label
Cricket is perhaps the most English of sports, played throughout Britain from Lords to the village green. Kent & Curwen's top quality sweaters are hand-framed: the striped trim is knitted separately and then grafted to the main body. This style appeared just after the First World War. It would be worn with the other cricketing 'whites' of flannel trousers, cotton shirt and lace-up boots.(1997)
