Ein zierlicher Camin, der zugleich oben die Figur eines modernen Ofens an sich nimt, und überaus viel wärme von sich läst, bey welchem das Feuer auf einem Horizontal freij, aufgehängten Rost lieget, der bald hoch bald niederig mit gegen Gewichten zu richten ist, damit alle Wärme der kleinen und durch den Rost gefallenen Kohlen samt der Warmen Asche kan in der Stuben genuzet werden. Cum Pr. Sac. Cæs. Maj. Hæred. Ier. Wollfij exc. A.V.
Translation
A delicate chimney, that simultaneously adopts the form of a modern stove, and greatly exudes much warmth, on which the fire lies un a horizontal, freely hanging grate, that can be lifted and lowered with counterweights, so that all the warmth from the small coals that have fallen through the grate and the warm ash can be used in the chamber.
Object history
The V&A holds this suite as published by Johann Balthasar Probst. It was originally published by Jeremias Wolff, before 1724.
