Woven linen damask napkin with hunting scenes. The napkin is woven with a narrow checker-board border around the outer edge and within this a stylised floral border. There are rosettes in the corners. There are three hunting scenes in the central field, one above the other, and two point repeats in the width of the material, not centrally aligned.
top : a horseman with drawn sword and a dog in pursuit of a stag
middle : a man on foot, with a dog, attacking a lion with a sword
bottom : a man on foot, with a dog, attacking a bear with a sword. The lower part of this scene is repeated upside down along the lower edge of the central field.
Hemmed at top and bottom; selvedges at sides.
