Object history
Bruce Weber is the best known exponent of a style of male glamour which was highly influential in the fashion world during the 1980's. Calvin Klein, Karl Lagerfeld and Ralph Lauren have all employed his talents to define their brand image. Weber’s chiselled models are sexy yet innocent, sculptural but relaxed, and create an image of clean-cut, all-American athleticism. It is the human factor in Weber’s fashion images which is dominant, rather than the clothing; and his choice of models defines his style as much as his carefully controlled lighting.
