Studies of figures, including a Virgin and Child, the heads of two angels, a youth and a draped female.

Drawing
Artist/Maker

Giulio Cesare Procaccini came from an extensive family of artists. His style fluctated across his life, and he was both a painter and a sculptor. Here the soft lines made by his use of a brush still convey a strong, sculptural sense of volume in some of the figures, through the considered hatching and lighting of bodily contours.
