Object history | In his book The Life and Letters of Samuel Palmer, A. H. Palmer states that his father visited Devon and Cornwall four times between the years 1848 and 1858. A letter form the artist to Edward Calvert dated 25 June 1848 describes the wild scenery of the north Cornish coast. |
