Collier Schorr (born 1963) is principally a photographer. This photograph comes from a series she made supposedly showing new recruits in the Swedish military. She has said, " My plan was to document conscripts, particularly during their downtime, waiting for a war that never comes." However, the Swedish authorities refused her access, so instead she staged likely scenarios using the young nephews of a friend as her models.
