Image of the Goddess Parvati at the Elephanta Caves. The Rock Cut temples on Elephanta Island were thought to be carved ca.450-750 A.D. Each cave contain sculptured panels of the Hindu Panethon, including the triple headed Trimurti in the central cave where Siva, consort of Parvarti, embodies the role of Creator, Preservor and Destroyer.
