Nativity Scene in a Poppy Head

Large, empty poppy head with part of one side cut away. and trimmed with gold metallic braid all the way around. At the top is tied a gold metallic ribbon so the whole may be hung.
Inside the cavity is a bed of seaweed or sponge. This is very soft and rubbery to the touch and smells of iodine. IT MAY BE RUBBER OR IT MAY BE REAL. In front of this are two figures and a baby in a crib, representing the 'Holy Family'. Above on the braid is glued a tailed star. The figures and star are made of moulded white plastic.

This may have been made anywhere, even the Far East, however, the braid looks German.
