This silk curtain tie was used as part of a set of furnishings (see also T.3&B to E-1971). It was part of a set of window drapes said to have been made for Windsor Castle. Manufactured in silk and probably made by the London fringe and braid makers B.A.Clarke.

Physical description
Silk curtain tie made of thick 3-ply tie-cord in mid-green, white and olive green. The green cords are simple 2-ply covered with floss silk; the white cords are finer 2-ply over a hidden cord.

The small ribbon stripe, woven into the edge of a silk fabric, dates from about 30 years later than the larger version. The pattern has been reversed. The re-use of the same pattern and colour scheme shows how French Style remained fashionable for many years.
