Physical description
Paper manuscript (parabaik) painted with gouache and with a thitsi lacquer cover. It illustrates and describes the costumes and paraphernalia allowed to Court and Provincial Officials for ceremonial occasions.

The costumes, paraphernalia and regalia depicted in this parabaik are said to be those permitted by King Thibaw to be used by his provincial rulers; they include several types of hat, ear-plugs, salwes (chain of honour), coats, scarves, horse-harness, palanquins, boats, musical instruments, buildings, weapons, umbrellas and betel-sets.
This belonged to U Tet Htoot who was a distinguished Burmese scholar resident in the UK.
Production
Said by the donor, a Burmese scholar, to have come from King Thibaw's (r. 1878-1885) Palace in Mandalay.
