Watercolour copy of the ground of a 15th century Italian chasuble of brocaded damask woven in red silk and silver gilt thread. Pattern of lopped wavy stems arranged diagonally; between them are floral devices and leafy stems on which birds are perched. The original is in the V&A collection (935-1901).
