Historical context
Hanging cloths and wall runners, such as this example, belonged to the textile decoration of ceiling and walls of the house in south of Sweden. The specific technique called 'upphämta' is focussed to the area of the so-called Southern Götaland house type in Scania, Blekinge, Halland, southwestern Småland and Västergötland.
