Brief description | Enea Vico and Giacomo Mascardi. Frontispiece and twelve subtitles for Primor XII Caesarum Verissimae Imagines. Third edition of Le Imagine...de gli Imperatori of 1548. Reissues of B. XV, 322(II), 323, 328, 341, 346, 350, 354, 360, 365, 368, 372, 381 and 388, relettered. Each plate depicts a medal set into the top of a frame comprising varying elements, inlcuding strapwork, swags, satyrs, children, animal masks and vases. The centre of each plate occupied by a Latin text. The plates lettered in alphabetical order. Italian, Rome, 1614. |
