Object history | These hoods were worn to protect children from the sun. This hood was embroidered by a village woman for her son or daughter. It incorporates the same motifs as work created by professional craftsman but was done with a needle. The mirrors also appear in a less sophisticated embroidery, as do stylised human figures. |
